    Where is the show?

It takes place in Sherwood, OR down Pinehurst Ct, located at the corner of Woodhaven and Pinehurst. Once you reach the corner it should be clear where to go. Please park elsewhere and walk the street.

  • The Pirates of Pinehurst’s gold has been hidden on the trails and parks of Sherwood, OR. If ye be a brave pirate, then grab a map, go hunting and become a legend. There is gold starting October 1st.

Look high and low, far and wide! The gold will be hidden no more than 10 ft off of the trails. It could be hidden in plain sight or require you to brush aside a leaf or two… but beware poison ivy and oak, we’ve seen sightings on trails. We will not hide near by anything that starts with “poison”.

When ye find the gold, we ask far pirate parents to comment on an Instagram or Facebook post so we can keep track of how much gold that be left. While yer at it, follow us on social media to get up to date information.

  • Around 400 small doubloons and 15 large medallions are hidden in the trails+parks of Sherwood during October. Bring them back to the Pirates on Halloween weekend for yer reward.

We hide about 80 pieces each weekend. Generally we start during the school day on Friday and continue to hide through the weekend.

  • If its October, then probably. We typically check on the gold from time to time to see if it has been found or not, but we cannot guarantee it. Good luck!

  • We typically hide on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We try and space out the gold across each location and each day.

But we aim to keep a steady stream of gold out on the trails and parks of Sherwood throughout the month of October.

When you are out hunting, it can be tempting to wonder if there is actually gold to be found or not. The answer is, we don’t know. Sometimes the gold we hide stays unfound for weeks, sometimes it is found in minutes. Chances are that at any given moment there probably is some gold.

  • We always recommend right after school Friday or early morning on Saturday and Sunday, but there is always gold to be found so keep your heart strong me hearties!

In addition to the many Pirates of Pinehurst, we also have volunteers helping to hide and everyone puts out gold based on their own schedules. There is no way for us to ever definitely know if there is gold and how much and where.

Gold hunting has a bit of luck involved and a lot of perseverance. We wish you all well in your hunt, but remember that no matter what, the Pirates will be there on Halloween night handing out candy.

  • We have a map!

  • Depending on the amount of rain, we do sometimes need to cancel the show. This is to ensure that all the equipment stays functional throughout October. We announce the cancellations on social media and on the website.
