Many tides ago, a group of pirates called Sherwood home. These were the great Pirates of Pinehurst! They plundered the high seas, stealing from the rich so they could help the poor. There were incredible adventures and their legend grew over the years…so much in fact the stories of the Pirates of Pinehurst made their way to the despicable Captain Jack Sparrow. Jack heard about the gold, and he decided to steal it for himself!

It was a brazen plan that ALMOST worked. While Jack may have gotten away, the gold did not. It is now hidden throughout Sherwood and the Pirates of Pinehurst need your help to get it back. Join the adventure, find the gold, become a legend!

The Pirates of Pinehurst’s gold has been hidden on the trails and parks of Sherwood, Oregon. If ye’ be a brave pirate, then grab a map, go hunting and become a legend!

Look high and low, far and wide! The gold will be hidden no more than 10ft off of the trails. It could be hidden in plain sight or require you to brush aside a leaf or two.

When ye find the gold, we ask far pirate parents to comment on instagram or facebook post so we can keep track of how much gold thar be left. While yer at it, follow us on social media to get up to date information.

Rules

Around 400 small doubloons and 15 large medallions are hidden in the trails+parks of Sherwood during October. Bring them back to the Pirates on Halloween weekend for yer reward.


We hide about 80 pieces each weekend. Generally we start during the school day on Friday and continue to hide through the weekend.


Look high and low, the gold will be hidden no more than 10 ft off the trails. It could be hidden in plain sight or require you to brush aside a leaf.
